The End of Patriarchy

Thoughts on
Women's Lives, Women's Rituals in the Hindu Tradition Edited by Tracy Pintchman Copyright 2007, Oxford University Press ISBN 978-0-19-517706-0

In addition to 40 years of cultivating a spiritual life based on the vedic-upanishadic philosophy of India, my journey to the more established Indian spiritual centers in the summer of 1994 confirmed that the blueprint of creation must be always honored, or disaster follows.

Essentially, the vedic teachings inform that Shakti (the primordial energy which animates mind and matter) is the active principle, and it is functional due to its equal relationship with the inactive, or static principle. Shakti is feminine.  She is the Goddess!  India is a matriarchal society.  If you stay with a family, it is apparent that the women are primarily in charge of householder duties and they maintain the intergenerational social weave, which characterizes Indian society.

When this is not honored, and attempts are made to create a patriarchal administered society, chaos follows. Particularly in the postmodern urban areas, this is true.  The systemic insanity which is evident in larger cities, such as Mumbai, as opposed to the relative harmony in households in the same city which are run on matriarchal lines, is constant proof of the stupidity and dysfunctionality of patriarchy in general.

The resolution of the psychotic patriarchal plutocracy is to
return to and adhere to the timeless vedic-upanishadic blueprint
for society, where social roles make rational sense and happiness
is possible.  Patriarchy and its wars to keep the global economy
alive is a hopeless circle of despair.  It's so simple.
